Two Legends, One Venue: The Claypool Lennon Delirium at the Mishawaka
The Mishawaka was beyond thrilled to welcome Les Claypool and Sean Lennon this past Friday. These two legends formed The Claypool Lennon Delirium in 2015 and their sound is exactly what their title implies.
On Friday night, Les Claypool, bassist from Primus, played riffs that sounded vaguely familiar to his days with Primus but nonetheless something new, accompanied by Sean Lennon’s amazing guitar and vocals created a dreamy buoyancy to their sound.
They rocked the house with some psychedelic beats like Amethyst Realm, Blood and Rockets, and Little Fishes, as well as doing a few covers by the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Who. These two are an incredible duo – we were truly submersed in their talent that night.
Claypool spent his day fishing on the river, mentally preparing to give us an amazing show and Sean spent his time preparing by pranking his crew with our Rocky Mountain Oysters and having his fill of our oxygen tank.
Their entire crew was a pleasure to have and everyone had a little something to add to the experience. The crowd was definitely enjoying themselves, grooving to the music all night long. We had Uni as openers and the two bands were the perfect pair.
Uni had an incredibly unique presence which got everyone in the crowd mesmerized and warmed up for the music to come. We hope to see more of these guys within the following years and wish them best of luck on the rest of their tour!
Thank you Sunny Side Production for the photos!
