The Brothers Comatose is a five-piece bluegrass band based out of San Francisco, California. The band consists of brothers Ben and Alex Morrison, who play guitar and banjo, respectively, along with Gio Benedetti on the bass, Philip Brezina with the violin, and Ryan Avellone on the Mandolin. Born in Petaluma, California, frontman Ben Morrison along with his brother, Alex Morrison began playing guitar and singing songs at age 12, taking a liking to Rock and Roll. The brothers grew up around music, hosting music parties. “The Morrison house was a gathering place for local musicians – everyone would bring an instrument, call out tunes, call out changes, and just play for hours” says Brothers Comatose bassist, Giovanni Benedetti The band began with the two brothers doing arrangements of songs by bands such as Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Hayes Carll is at the forefront of a generation of American singer/songwriters. A Texas native, his style of roots-oriented songwriting has been noted for its plain-spoken poetry and sarcastic humor. He was nominated for a 2016 Grammy award for Best Country Song, and American Songwriter awarded him with Song of the Year for “Another Like You” in 2011, the same year he was nominated for Artist of the Year at the Americana Awards. Now Hayes is returning with a powerful and raw set of songs produced by Joe Henry entitled Lovers and Leavers. The record marks a new chapter for Hayes - he has gone through much personal change in the 5 years since his last release, and he mines the depths of these experiences on this record. Sonically, he has stripped away some of the country sounds that marked his previous records, thus highlighting his well-worn voice and placing his straightforward and heartfelt lyrics at the center. Hayes' 5th studio album, Lovers and Leavers, is available now!
Bonnie and Taylor Sims are a musical couple from Texas who now make their home in the Rocky Mountains. Over the last 5 years they have made a name for themselves as a true Colorado treasure with a full touring schedule as well as many teaching and speaking commitments. Bonnie Sims plays mandolin and carries on the musical tradition of her father, a life long Texas banjo playing legend and songwriter. Taylor Sims plays flat-top guitar and is an award-winning songwriter and recording artist from wide open spaces of West Texas. The two met while attending South Plains College in 2005 where they began their life of love and music. When they are not playing as the duo, they front a five piece country/rock band called Bonnie & the Clydes. With 4 critically acclaimed albums and multiple awards they continue to write, perform and produce real Americana music that is truly their own.
