Canyon Lights & Crispy Nights: 3 Days of Umphrey’s McGee Magic | September 25th-27th

Last weekend, Mishawaka Amphitheatre welcomed back Umphrey’s McGee for a three night run. They brought a cool and eclectic energy that was perfect for the first weekend of fall in Bellevue, Colorado. There was variety throughout each night’s set, blending covers of artists like Radiohead and Neil Young.

On the first night, Friday, September 25th, excitable fans lined up outside the front gate, buzzing with anticipation before UM even arrived. It was a chilly fall day, but the warmth from the fans ignited The Mish. The fans were dressed in bright colors, sequins, and sparkles. UM consists of 5 members, with Scotty Zwang on drums/vocals, Joel Cummins on keyboards/vocals, Brendan Bayliss on guitar/vocals, Andy Farag on percussion, and Ryan Stasik on bass. They rocked the house on night one, invigorating the crowd for an unforgettable weekend.

Night 2 :

What a special night. UM got to jam out under the harvest moon. We are so thankful that we got to welcome autumn with the incredible Umphrey’s McGee. Once the sun went down, you could feel the crisp autumn air. We had loyal fan line out waiting for doors to open. You saw people wear beautiful colorful clothes and sparkles all over. You could tell these were loyal fans. As the venue started to fill up the the lights turned down and beautiful colorful lights hit the crowd.

Umphrey’s started the first set with “Linear”. During their first set we got to jam out with a cover of “Harvest Moon”. Listening to this cover on a harvest moon night was so special. You could see all of the smiles on everyone faces. We got to dance under the moon with an incredible band, listening to two amazing jam sets. We would love to relive that night again!

Night 3:

Although it was the last night of Umphrey’s McGee at The Mish, you couldn’t tell by the sheer energy of the crowd. Starting in the afternoon, devoted fans began to line up and enjoy the warm fall day in the canyon. Similar to the audience, Umphreys’ energy also failed to waver. Throughout the day, the sounds of “Lithium” by Nirvana echoed around the green room as the band prepared for their special cover song of the night.

The crowd danced the night away, with verve that could easily be mistaken for a Saturday night. The venue stayed packed and enthralled up until the final song, “Partyin’ Peeps”. It  was the perfect, exciting, and high-energy tune to end a weekend in the canyon!
