2nd Annual Hip Hop on the Hillside with Prof
Hip Hop on the Hillside came back for a spectacular 2nd year at the Mishawaka and we could not have done it if it weren’t for the support of new and returning fans! Prof took the lead this year along with some local Colorado hip hop artists including Kind Dub, Thin Air Crew, and BBMC (standing for Beats, Babes, Music, Collective), and Rolos coming from the East Coast. It’s an amazing experience when local artists get together at a local venue and do what they love.
Thin Air Crew
Friday had to be the hottest day of the weekend, keeping staff on their toes making sure everyone was hydrated. Like one of our shuttle helpers, Rita, called it, “Hip Hot!”. Speaking of Rita, Prof and his crew really hit it off with her right before going on stage and Prof made sure to give her a shout after spotting her in the crowd!
Prof is definitely a performer and he knows how to get his crowd in the mood. Performing many of his songs off his newest album, Pookie Baby, it was apparent that he has a very loyal fanbase. You could hear the entire crowd chant all the words at Prof’s command! I can see why his fans are so devoted – he did a great job at getting everyone involved. He even jumped off one of our security’s shoulders to crowd surf!
It was amazing seeing how Prof and “Willy Wonky”, the DJ/hype man, vibed together on stage. They truly had the crowd immersed in the experience check out their antics below!
Hip Hop on the Hillside was yet again, a success and the Mishawaka can’t wait for another year of rhymes by the river. It was incredible seeing locals supporting local artists and being a part of all the chaos on one of the hottest days at the Mish (literally and figuratively).
